Jessica Wilson
Jessica Wilson is an author and speaker born to second-generation Jamaican parents in North London. Trained at University College London and Cambridge University, she is author of the award-winning, Sofia the Dreamer and Her Magical Afro and 6 books to be published by Quarto Publishing, Templar Books, Pan Macmillan and Tate Publishing between 2026 and 2028.
Jessica is a recipient of the Society of Authors’ Arthur Welton Award for Poetry and was shortlisted for an Aesthetica Creative Writing Award and Penguin Random House’s WriteNow diversity initiative, held in collaboration with the BBC and Spread the Word.
Jessica been commissioned to write for many titles and companies, including, Lonely Planet, Tate Britain and gal-dem. She has enjoyed speaking opportunities and coaching roles for a range of clients, including Pan MacMillan, The Race Council, The University of the West Indies and BookTrust Represents. Jessica is currently a lecturer at City Lit, London, specialising in Black British Literature.
